Group Financial Controller
Base to £130,000 plus bonus and benefits
My client is a listed hospitality group looking to hire an experienced Group Financial Controller to oversee key aspects of periodic reporting, transactional processing, audit, AP, AR and finance transformation projects. You will support a CFO and manage a team between 6-10 staff. Main responsibilities include
1. Deliver month-end close and reporting actuals, including acting as the face of Group Finance with key stakeholders
2. Manage the consolidation of actuals for Hospitality business units.
3. Review the monthly accounting reporting pack submission and be the point person for all queries.
4. Responsible for the division statutory accounting and filings.
5. Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate completion of the audit.
6. Provide insights and guidance on all technical accounting queries and where appropriate, through high-quality accounting papers.
7. Introduce new balance reports encompassing working capital reporting and AR/AP and procurement performance metrics.
8. Provide oversight and reporting of the EMEA hospitality division's corporate costs.
9. Own staff payroll models, forecasts and reporting pack.
10. Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal controls.
11. Provide support on cash flow analysis as required.
12. Oversee new capital spend and forecast reports working closely with the Development Team.
13. Prepare financial data/information on an ad hoc basis. Balance Sheet Control
14. Develop and maintain robust financial policies and procedures and ensure adherence across the business.
15. Lead all aspects of the accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and the general ledger.
16. Review transactional processing (AR & AP) and the lead improvement of working capital management.
17. Oversee the set-up of finance systems, processes and controls for new properties.
18. Provide ad-hoc support for new reporting requirements for investment partners. Treasury, Tax and Banking
19. Liaise with the Head of Treasury and Tax in handling all funding requirements and associated documentation and information requests.
20. Work closely with the Head of Treasury and Tax to manage all VAT compliance and corporate tax planning and submissions to tax authorities.
21. Manage key stakeholder relationships with COO's, CFO and UK based Finance leaders in sister companies.
22. Co-ordinate annual property valuations with external valuers and Group Asset Management team
To be considered for this newly created Divisional Group Financial Controller role, you should be ACA qualified (min 8 years PQE) with a mix of practice and corporate experience. Knowledge of the hospitality sector, strong technical accounting (IFRS), able to lead a team between 6-10 staff, strong systems experience, good Excel and experience in consolidation and reporting
