RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE WORKER Benesse Care Ltd Address: Woodlands House, Heather Avenue, Alexandria, G83 0TJ L ocation: Alexandria, Scotland Reports to: Residential House Manager / Supervisor Salary: Unqualified - £24,336 Qualified -£28,080 -£36.000 Plus sleepover rate - £60per sleep Contract hours available: Full-time: 36 hours per week, Part-time: 32 or 24 hours per week (plus sleepovers) Job Purpose To support young people living in a residential home by providing a safe, stable and nurturing environment. This role involves building strong relationships, promoting wellbeing, supporting family time, education and helping each young person reach their full potential through consistent care and guidance. Key Responsibilities Care and Support Provide high-quality, person-centred care in a warm, homely setting. Build positive relationships with young people, supporting their emotional, social, and practical needs. Provide high-quality, person-centred care in a warm, homely setting. Assist in developing life skills, resilience, and independence. Offer consistent support around routines, personal care, and daily living. CALMH training to be used to support children in times of crisis. Education and Development Support young people in attending school, college, or training, and help with homework or learning activities. Actively promote and celebrate educational achievements. Family Time and Relationships Support young people in maintaining and developing healthy relationships with family members. Supervise and facilitate family time in a safe and supportive way. Provide emotional support before and after family time. Teamwork and Compliance Work closely with colleagues, social workers, and external agencies as part of a multi-agency team. Contribute to care planning, reviews, and risk assessments. Keep accurate records and comply with SSSC Codes of Practice and all regulatory standards. Adhere to safeguarding procedures and report concerns promptly. Working Pattern 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers 36-hour working week. More days off due to condensed shift pattern. Full annual leave entitlement. Essential Criteria Relevant SVQ 3 and or HNC Qualification(s) Full manual driving licence (essential) Relevant experience working with children or young people in residential care.
