How youll make an impact Own the end-to-end Purchase Ledger process Process high-volume invoices, including matching, batching, and coding Support digital invoice processing and automation tools Prepare and run weekly payment runs, including ad hoc payments Maintain supplier accounts and resolve queries Complete supplier statement reconciliations Perform bank and ledger reconciliations Support month-end close, including accruals and Purchase Ledger reconciliations Contribute to cashflow forecasting through accurate supplier tracking Partner with the Finance Manager to improve controls Identify and implement process improvements across purchase-to-pay Why youre a great fit Essential Experience in a Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role Strong understanding of invoice processing and payment cycles Working knowledge of double entry and finance fundamentals Confident using Excel and finance systems Organised, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities Desirable Exposure to Accounts Receivable or broader finance tasks Experience supporting month-end and reconciliations Interest in systems, automation, and improving processes What youll get in return This role offers a clear pathway to develop your finance career, starting with a strong grounding in Purchase Ledger and expanding into broader Accounts Assistant responsibilities over time. £28,000 to £35,000 salary Hybrid working, 2 days per week in the North Somerset office Study support, ACCA or CIMA, after probation 25 days holiday plus bank holidays Additional wellbeing or volunteering days Private healthcare and enhanced benefits package Supportive, people-first culture focused on growth and development We welcome applications from all candidates who feel they meet the criteria.
