As a Programmes Facilitator at HMP Peterborough, you will deliver interventions aimed at challenging and changing offender behaviour. You will facilitate structured group sessions, provide tailored one-to-one support, and guide individuals to achieve key learning outcomes.
Your responsibilities include thorough planning, preparation, and evaluation of each session, ensuring compliance with the programme manual and Ministry of Justice guidelines. As a Key Worker, you will support up to four participants per course, helping them review and progress against their individual care plans. Additionally, you will assess potential participants, monitor progress, and prepare detailed reports for parole boards and probation services.
This role requires empathy, resilience, and a genuine belief in change. You must be adaptable, capable of responding to challenging behaviour, and committed to promoting diversity and inclusivity within the programme.

Main Responsibilities
1. Work collaboratively with the Interventions team, prisoners, and the wider prison community.
2. Deliver Offending Behaviour Programmes (OBPs) to support lifestyle changes and reduce reoffending.
3. Provide factual reports and information to support prisoners' progress.
4. Demonstrate delivery skills through attendance at core skills and programme-specific training.
5. Maintain a good understanding of the programme content, integrity, and rationale.
6. Conduct one-to-one sessions with prisoners using motivational interviewing techniques to support violence reduction and reoffending prevention.
7. Carry out duties as directed by the Programmes Manager.

* A good level of numeracy and literacy.
* Strong interpersonal skills with an empathetic and genuine approach.
* Excellent planning, organisational, and attention-to-detail abilities.
* A keen interest in rehabilitation and substance misuse.
* Ability to handle challenging behaviour and adapt to different learning styles.
* Proactive, eager to learn, and open to giving and receiving constructive feedback.
Desirable but not required:
* Relevant experience in criminology, community services, or justice-related roles.
* Experience in group facilitation or one-to-one support work.
