The Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust (WAST) is looking to recruit HART Paramedics to work within the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
HART is a specially recruited team of experienced Paramedics who are trained and equipped to provide the ambulance service response to high risk and complex emergency situations.
WAST HART are currently recruiting for a Full Time Permanent HART Paramedic.
This post is at Agenda for Change Band 6 and will include the associated unsocial hours for the current rota pattern.

Main duties of the job
It is essential that applicants for this post are already HCPC registered Paramedics.
WAST, HART is based in Bridgend South Wales but covers a Pan Wales response. As such successful applicants would be expected to be prepared for prolonged deployments if the situation required.
If not already CHARU (Cymru High Acuity Response Unit) trained, Paramedics will be expected to successfully complete a CHARU course on commencement of role.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Job responsibilities
Maintaining full HART training and skill sets, the post-holder will work to their respective scope of HART practice.
They will also need to be able to operate at band 6 level Paramedic when required in support of wider Operations, including responding to calls.

Person Specification
Qualifications and/or Knowledge
* A recognised Higher Education paramedic qualification (Dip HE), or Successfully completed an approved Paramedic Training Programme.
* Registered Paramedic with the Health and Care Professionals Council.
* A recognised Higher Education Paramedic qualification (with recognised equivalent experience).
* IHCD Advanced Driving Programme 11(D2) (BTEC Level 3 in Emergency Ambulance Driving.
* BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science
Experience
* Specialist knowledge and experience across the range of work procedures and practices underpinned by theoretical knowledge or significant practical experience in prioritising needs and informed decision making in the delivery of care.
* Knowledge of current clinical evidence based medicine.
* Knowledge and understanding of Clinical Governance.
