Salary 45k to 52k plus penson and annual leave
Overview
Our Client we are working with is manufacturer specialising in innovative agricultural machinery. The company focuses on advancing automation and robotics to deliver bespoke, high-performance equipment that is transforming modern farming.
We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong blend of design expertise and hands-on engineering capability. This role involves taking concepts from initial idea through to fully functioning machinery, contributing to cutting-edge developments in the agricultural sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead mechanical design projects from concept through to manufacture and completion.
* Produce detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or similar software.
* Design and develop solutions involving sheet metal, fabrication, and automated systems.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to deliver effective engineering solutions.
* Research and evaluate new materials, components, and technologies to support innovation.
* Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and aligned with real-world performance requirements.
Skills & Experience Required
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
* Strong mechanical design capability with a hands-on, practical engineering mindset.
* Experience or qualification in engineering design or a related field.
* Knowledge of fabrication processes and sheet metal design.
* Ability to translate concepts into functional, real-world machinery.
* Strong problem-solving skills and a creative, proactive approach.
* Good communication skills and IT literacy.
Desirable
* Experience within the agricultural or machinery sector.
* Exposure to automation, robotics, or bespoke machine design.
