Role Overview
We are looking for a mid-weight Motion Visual Designer with strong Adobe After Effects expertise to join an innovation-focused design stream working on upcoming and new device concepts.
This role sits at the intersection of digital interaction, product experience, and motion, helping bring early-stage ideas, concepts, and design thinking to life. The focus is on screens, interactions, and sensory experience-how users engage with devices through motion, feedback, and interface behaviour.
You will collaborate closely with innovation teams, industrial designers, and digital designers to visualise concepts for small screens, IoT devices, and wearable technology, translating ideation into clear, engaging motion explorations.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and animate 2D and 2.5D motion concepts using Adobe After Effects
* Bring early-stage ideas, concepts, and innovation thinking to life through motion
* Create motion studies for:
o On-screen interactions and UI behaviour
o Small screens and IoT devices
o Wearables (eg smartwatches and connected devices)
o Device interactions including buttons, transitions, and feedback
* Explore user interaction and sensory experience, including how motion supports usability and understanding
* Support industrial and digital design teams by visualising:
o Interface behaviour
o Transitions and states
o Interaction logic and motion language
* Apply strong animation fundamentals including timing, easing, anticipation, overshoot, and follow-through
* Produce clear, polished motion outputs that communicate ideas rather than finished VFX
* Work iteratively, responding to feedback and evolving concepts quickly
Required Skills & Experience
* Strong, hands-on experience using Adobe After Effects as a primary tool
* Proven ability to animate:
o UI elements and interactions
o Text, shapes, and illustrative assets
o Composited video where required
* Solid understanding of:
o Motion principles and interaction-led animation
o Compositing techniques (masking, blending modes, basic keying/roto)
o Pre-compositions and expressions for efficient workflows
* Comfortable working with assets from Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
* Experience visualising motion for small screens, devices, or product interfaces is highly desirable
* Strong attention to detail with a clean, considered motion style
Desirable Experience
* Exposure to IoT, wearable technology, or connected devices
* Experience collaborating with industrial designers or product teams
* Understanding of interaction design and user-centred motion
* Cinema 4D or light 3D awareness is a bonus, but not essential
* Confident working in fast-paced, concept-driven environments
