Job Overview
Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (interest in Intrapartum and High Risk Obstetrics), based at Frimley Park Hospital (FPH). The allocation of programmed activities is 8.5 hours for direct clinical care and up to 1.5 hours for supporting professional activities. Proposed timetable includes:
- Labour Ward Consultant day once per week
- Elective LSCS list
- Antenatal clinic weekly
- Patient Safety/Quality review meetings/PMRT
- Gynaecology Outpatient
- Theatre list
- EPU/Emergency Gynaecology Twilight
- Out of hours (including resident Consultant night)
- SPA

Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
- Entry on Specialist Register (CCT or expected within 6 months of interview) or Specialist Registrar for Mediated Entrants
- ATSM or SITM in Advanced Labour Ward Practice
- ATSM or SITM in Labour Ward Lead and/or High Risk Pregnancy
- MRCOG in advanced labour ward practice
Desirable Criteria:
- Clinical research in fields of special interest
- Evidence of participation in QIPs
- Experience of obstetric governance and work on guidelines
- Publications relevant to obstetrics
Skills & Knowledge
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems both emergency and elective within Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Clinical training and experience equivalent to that for gaining UK CCT in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Desirable Criteria:
- Participation in multidisciplinary team activities
