Kent is seeking a Lead Cost Estimator to join our centre of excellence for Pre-FEED & FEED. You will be part of our expanding team supporting diverse projects in Low Carbon / Energy Transition (CCUS / Green Hydrogen, Blue Hydrogen, Offshore Wind, Waste to X, Emissions Reduction) and traditional international energy sectors.
You will collaborate closely with our team to develop estimating disciplines, including preparing cost estimates for current and future projects. Our professionals work across disciplines to deliver comprehensive solutions to our clients. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your cost estimation expertise and develop your skills in cost engineering.
Our hybrid working model combines office and remote work, requiring presence in the Woking office four days a week to foster a strong team dynamic within Engineering.
Skills and Responsibilities:
1. Lead the planning and preparation of cost estimates for assigned projects.
2. Support the development of the cost estimation discipline, including training junior estimators and developing tools.
3. Assist other business units as needed.
4. Maintain company cost data and norms.
5. Conduct assurance and benchmarking activities.
6. Develop bid evaluations.
7. Perform risk analysis.
8. Enhance estimating methods and tools within the function.
Additional ad-hoc tasks may be assigned, aligned with your skills and role, to meet organizational needs efficiently while supporting your professional growth.
Qualifications:
* Background in cost engineering.
* Experience in O&G, Utilities, Pharmaceuticals, Mining, or Nuclear sectors.
* Understanding of various cost estimating methods.
* Knowledge of scheduling and planning.
* Knowledge of quantitative risk analysis and tools.
Communication & Core Competencies:
* Excellent command of English, both oral and written.
* Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office tools.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
