The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freelance Construction Manager to join a Tier 1 contractor on a major high-rise project in central Bristol. The scheme is a landmark multi-storey development, incorporating residential, commercial, and public realm spaces — currently in the early stages of construction.
You’ll play a critical role in site leadership, working alongside the Project Manager to manage subcontractors, oversee daily operations, and ensure the build is progressing safely, on time, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
* Daily management of site operations and logistics
* Coordination of subcontractors and trades on a live high-rise site
* Ensuring site safety and adherence to health & safety regulations (HSE compliance)
* Quality assurance and tracking progress against programme
* Interface with design, engineering, and commercial teams
* Problem-solving and proactive risk management
* Site reporting and client liaison as required
Requirements
* Minimum 5–7 years' experience in a Construction Manager role on high-rise or complex RC frame projects
* Strong background with main contractors or high-profile subcontractors
* Valid SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and First Aid certifications
* Confident in managing teams and multiple workstreams on a fast-paced site
* Strong communication, leadership, and organisation skills
* Available to start on short notice or within 2–4 weeks
