HR Adviser (Part‑time)
Location: Rotherham (S65)
Salary: £40,000 FTE (pro rata, open to discussion for strong experience)
Hours: Part‑time approx. 0.7 FTE – every morning essential, flexible pattern available; on site Monday–Friday 08:00–12:30, the rest flexible.
Start Date: December or January (to allow handover flexibility)
Our client is an independent specialist day college for young people aged 16‑25 with complex special educational needs.
What you’ll be doing
* Providing clear, practical advice on all day‑to‑day HR issues
* Managing contracts, policies, compliance and employee relations
* Supporting managers with casework, restructures and change management
* Reviewing and improving HR processes and documentation
* Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team
What we’re looking for
* Significant hands‑on HR experience
* Confident, pragmatic adviser who can handle a wide range of HR matters
* Excellent people skills: visible, approachable and credible across the organisation
* Able to work independently and manage workload in a small but busy environment
* Experience with Peninsula HR (or similar) would be a bonus, but not essential
* No need to be CIPD‑qualified; strong HR skills and sound judgement are what really matter
