Job Title: Lunchtime Supervisor - Middle School

Annual Salary: £3,270 - £3,370 (equivalent to £12.37 - £12.83 per hour). Full Time Equivalent Salary: £23,152 - £23,864 (CLF Grade Ai).

Contract Type: Permanent, Term Time Only

Hours: Part Time – Monday to Friday, 6.25 hours per week. Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 1.25 hours per day, 12:00 – 13:15.

Start Date: As soon as possible

We look for a passionate and inspiring Lunchtime Supervisor to join our supportive and talented team at King’s Oak Academy Middle School. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students’ learning.

The Lunchtime Supervisor/School Meals Supervisory Assistant (SMSA) will work as part of a team to supervise and support students in Years 5 and 6 during the lunchtime break. Lunchtime Supervisors ensure the safety, general welfare and proper conduct of students during this period and are responsible for making the lunchtime period a positive experience for all.


About you

* Have knowledge of basic hygiene procedures.
* Be able to maintain confidentiality over matters relating to the academy, with students, staff and/or parents.
* Have strong interpersonal skills, in particular demonstrate empathy and active listening.
* Be able to relate well to children, young people and adults.

King’s Oak Academy is situated in the heart of the South Gloucestershire community and is within easy commuting distance of Bristol and Bath. The academy has been part of the Cabot Learning Federation since 2011 and benefits from being part of a mature, successful MAT (Cabot Learning Federation) which offers access to excellent professional services and opportunities to work in collaboration with experienced professionals across the Trust.

As an all-through school, King's Oak is in a privileged position to educate children for aged 4-16 and support their respective families in the local community. The academy staff structure and estates are divided into three phases (Lower School = Reception - Year 4, Middle School = Year 5-8, Upper School = Year 9 - 11). This structure ensures that learning is high quality and bespoke for each child, long term relationships are fostered with families and King's Oak employees benefit from the unique CPD and leadership opportunities that are available to them as a result of working in an all-through community school.
