The Service Engineer performs required preventive and corrective maintenance on the STERIS/Cantel product lines and field troubleshooting primarily in their service area in the country. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance required on STERIS/Cantel product lines, related product lines, and competitive equipment. This includes: disassembling, replacing, or repairing defective parts; rewiring or reassembling as required; troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating, and certifying equipment ready for use by using standard and specialized tools and test equipment (i.e., schematics, diagrams, technical manuals, etc.).
Responsibilities:
1. Perform administrative duties including daily computer synchronization, completing service reports, and maintaining tools and parts inventory as required by Team Leaders and Service Manager.
2. Utilize corporate applications (Siebel, Oracle, Sales Connection, others) to handle daily activities.
3. Develop and maintain effective communication with customers, managers, support functions, and the sales organization.
4. Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor when working with customers, contractors, management, and fellow employees. Follow customer protocols and abide by all STERIS and customer health & safety protocols.
5. Provide solutions to customers to enhance sales and growth through effective positioning of STERIS/Cantel products and services, identifying opportunities, and passing leads to management and sales.
6. Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager, understanding that duties may vary with changing departmental demands.
Qualifications:
* Minimum of 2 years industry-related experience and general knowledge of operating washing and sterilization processing units.
* Valid driver's license required.
* Good troubleshooting skills and organizational attitude.
* Computer literacy with a good standard of education and excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Sufficient technical knowledge of the English language.
* Completion of a recognized mechanical, electrical, or electronic technical training scheme.
