St Johns House Medical Centre, Worcester is looking for a committed salaried GP to join our practice team to help shape our future growth. We have strong connections to our PCN, with a great multi‑generational patient population.
About The Practice
List size: 13,800. An innovative and supportive team comprising of two partners, six GPs, three trainee ACPs, two practice pharmacists, three nurses, three HCAs, a practice manager, an operations manager, reception managers, receptionists, administrators and secretaries. The practice is consistently benchmarked as high performing in ICB and PCN contracts across a range of indicators, including referrals and prescribing. Bi‑weekly MDT with social and community care. Training practice.
The Role
We are offering 6 sessions working on Monday, Thursday & Friday. Interests and personal development strongly encouraged. Support for becoming a trainer for interested candidates. Mentorship for portfolio roles, including future leadership roles in the wider community/health care.
The Team
Young, dynamic clinical team who work extremely well together. teamtwo clinical pharmacists and two PMCs) who deal with all medical related queries and offer a duty pharmacist daily alongside pharmacist support provided by Worcester City PCN. Innovative frailty and care home services with GP leadership. Strong links with social prescribing, including mental health and well‑being support. Open door/supportive team. There's always someone to ask or just to share a problem or some humour. Daily paid coffee break and chat. Fully engaged with PCN. Opportunities for more collaborative working and new primary care roles. Emis system, alongside Docman, X-on/Surgery Connect & Accurx.

Job Responsibilities
* Make surgery and telephone consultations, visits, and home visits; check and sign repeat prescriptions; take electronic prescription requests; handle queries, paperwork and correspondence.
* Assess patient health needs, screen for disease risk factors, develop care plans, provide counselling and health education.
* Admit or discharge patients and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
* Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes using the computer system and complete clinical templates.
* Collect and use data for audit purposes and prescribe in accordance with practice standards and national guidelines.
* Exercise professional, autonomous decision‑making and maintain clinical governance standards.
* Assist in evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
Other Responsibilities Within The Practice
* Comply with all relevant policies/guidelines including prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, QOF, CQC.
* A commitment to life‑long learning and audit for evidence‑based best practice.
* Contribute to summarising patient records and Read‑Coding patient data.
* Attend training and events (e.g. CPR) and participate in practice meetings when requested.
* Undertake lead responsibility for one or more clinical QOF domains and meet all deadlines for audits and written returns.
Qualifications
Essential
* GMC Registered GP
* On Performers List
* DBS Clearance
* Member of approved medical defence organisation
Experience
* Sound knowledge of QOF requirements, NICE guidelines etc. and commitment to deliver quality service to patients.
* Confident in making decisions, managing own workload and delegating appropriately.
* Good record keeping and communication skills.
Desirable
* Special interest in a specific area of primary care.
