Job Description
We are currently looking for 2x Generation Engineer (Mechanical Engineer)- Midlands/South Based.\n\nThis role is 40 hours per week. Remote with a VAN & Fuel fule card provided\n\nMidlands/Southern based is preferred to service Peakers, however national travel will be required.\n\nMain responsibilities:\n\n * Replace worn components as required (due to wear, failure, schedule). e.g.
cylinder heads, piston/liner packs, turbochargers, exhaust and induction systems, oil pumps, and intercoolers.\n\n * Lead the overhaul of reciprocating generating assets.\n\n * Day to day maintenance and operation including but not limited to; fault location, diagnosis, and rectification.\n\n * Planned maintenance delivery and breakdown response for generation assets, with minimum outages.\n\n * Seek guidance and advice from the Engineering and Management team in anything you are unsure of.\n\n * Avoiding unnecessary expenditure by using skills and tools available within the company.\n\n * Listing and ordering the correct components, gaskets and incidentals for scheduled overhaul and repairs.\n\n * Ensuring a stock of essential spare parts is replenished and available should there be a breakdown and/or unscheduled overhaul required.\n\n * A commitment to Health, Safety Quality and Environmental practices following all procedures and using your own judgement.\n\n * Reducing the company’s reliance on contractors wherever this is economically prudent.\n\n * Compliance and implementation of legislation and company protection procedures with a proactive approach to maintaining, monitoring, reporting and auditing.\n\n * A commitment to continuous enhancement of skills and knowledge, and that of the team members working with you.\n\n * Managing your time and travel effectively, staying away from home when appropriate.\n\nKnowledge/ Experience\n\n * Extensive experience with leading the overhaul of reciprocating generating asset in a field service environment.\n\n * Knowledge of MWM/CATCG/MTU equipment.\n\n * Familiar with Electrical, Heat and Mechanical maintenance.\n\n * Fault location, diagnosis and rectification\n\nDesirable\n\n * Gassafe accreditation (or ability to complete accreditation within probation)\n\n * Electrical skill or relevant experience in the field.\n\n * Familiar with electric control systems 12v DC – 415v AC 30ø.\n\n * Computer literate.\n\n * Hold full UK drivers licence
