Position We are looking for an enthusiastic and efficient Creative Designer to join our dynamic team. Within the Craft division you will work across two titles, Simply Crochet and The World of Cross Stitching, producing 13 editions of each a year alongside digital editions and additional supplements. The main purpose of the job is to assist the Creative Lead with the design and production of the magazines, within the allotted schedules. You will be working closely with the Creative Lead to design templated layouts for the two titles and help with aspects of production, while also creating various marketing and digital assets. This will include work such as associated supplements, advertorials, subscription pages, inserts, promotions, and assets for internal/external media. Requirements Essential Competent in the use of Adobe Creative suite, in particular InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator Experience of creating digital assets for online use Accurate, creative and self-motivated with a high attention to detail Strong portfolio of creative design work, showing an awareness and interest in design and typography trends and an ability to incorporate these into your work Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise work according to tight deadlines Ability to foster a positive working environment taking all stakeholders into account Brilliant communication skills Ability to contribute ideas and support the team environment to encourage efficient workflow processes Desirable An understanding of craft readership and current market trends Some newsstand and publishing industry awareness Experience of Premier Pro and After Effects to create digital assets Other information We respect and value differences.
