A rare and exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Employment Compliance Manager to join one of the UK’s most well-known employers. This role offers the chance to play a meaningful part in influencing how a growing organisation embeds best‑in‑class workforce governance.
Sitting within the HR Operations Governance team, the Employment Compliance Manager will be the go‑to expert on employment legislation, workforce compliance, and immigration governance. This person will help ensure the organisation’s diverse workforce, employees, embedded contractors, and contingent workers, operates within a robust, fair, and fully compliant framework.
The role will be 2 days a week in the office as a minimum, remainder from home and travel to both sites will be necessary, which are in London and Suffolk.
Key Responsibilities
Employment Compliance & Risk
Lead compliance across employment law areas including IR35, AWR, TUPE, WTD, GDPR, Right to Work, and visa sponsorship.
Run internal audits, reviews, and risk assessments.
Ensure policies and processes remain aligned with evolving legislation.
Maintain clear, auditable compliance records.Contingent & Embedded Workforce Governance
Oversee governance for contingent and embedded workers, ensuring consistency across frameworks and collective agreements.
Lead AWR and IR35 audits and manage CEST assessments.
Provide expert advice to HR, managers, and suppliers.Immigration & Visa Sponsorship
Manage the organisation’s Visa Sponsorship Licence and ensure UKVI compliance.
Oversee CoS allocations, visa applications, renewals, and Right to Work checks.
Conduct supplier assurance checks and support managers with immigration guidance.Policies, Systems & Reporting
Support continuous improvement of HR governance policies and systems.
Enhance reporting capabilities and deliver accurate management information.
Use data insights to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.Stakeholder & Change Management
Build trusted relationships across HR, Legal, Finance, Tax, and senior leadership.
Support organisational change linked to legislation, suppliers, and system enhancements.
Work closely with regulatory and industry bodies to uphold compliance standards.Skills & Experience
Essential:
Strong experience in employment compliance, workforce governance, or HR operations within a complex, regulated setting.
Robust knowledge of UK employment law and immigration legislation.
Demonstrated experience managing visa sponsorship and UKVI compliance.
Excellent communication, analytical skills, and stakeholder influence.
CIPD Level 5+ (or equivalent) and a degree in HR, Law, Business, or related field.Desirable:
Experience in government‑funded programmes.
Familiarity with systems such as SAP, MyHR, SuccessFactors, or Fieldglass.
Understanding of trade unions or collective agreements
