Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) are at the heart of local policing, bringing people together, strengthening communities, and creating safer neighbourhoods for all. As a uniformed presence in your community, you will play a key part in building trust and confidence by supporting the delivery of our Neighbourhood Policing Strategy.

Pay and Benefits
Scale 4 – £26,106 – £28,653 per annum (earning potential from £29k to £32k including shift allowance and weekend enhancement). Shift allowance of a maximum of 12.5% depending on location and precise working hours. Weekend working time and half for Saturday and Sunday. Hours are 8am to 10pm shift pattern operational over 7 days a week.
Requirements
* Minimum age 17 years in the application but must be 18 years old at commencement of employment
* Body Mass Index between 18-32 or ability to achieve this by January 2026
* Complete shuttle run (bleep test) up to level 5.4
* Hold GCSE A*-C (4-9) in English and Maths or Level 2 Function Skills qualification in English and Maths. If no equivalent Level 2 qualification, pass online verbal reasoning and calculation test.
* Hold full UK manual driver’s licence or obtain within 12 months of appointment

* Compete in National sift – situational judgement test (SJT) and behavioural styles questionnaire (BSQ).
* Submit application form with personal details.
* Successful candidates invited to interview. Competency and Values Framework available.
* Pre‑employment checks required if interview successful.
Training Information
Initial training period of 9 weeks (Monday‑Friday). Role plays and practical sessions. One day of Welsh training and 15‑week tutorship after classroom‑based training. 18‑month tenure attached to this post.
