Overview
Our client, a fast-growing digital consultancy, is seeking a Senior User Researcher (UX Research Lead) to deliver impactful, user-centred insights across complex digital transformation programmes.
Responsibilities
* Design, plan, and deliver user research strategies to solve complex client challenges
* Lead multidisciplinary agile teams to develop user-centred digital services
* Apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
* Translate research insights into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders
* Advocate for inclusive and accessible research practices, including assisted digital needs
* Build strong client relationships while constructively challenging assumptions and direction
* Lead, mentor, and line manage user researchers, supporting capability development
* Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, events, and thought leadership
* Promote user-centred design principles both internally and externally
Requirements
* Extensive experience applying user research methodologies across varied environments
* Proven track record working within agile, multidisciplinary teams
* Strong understanding of user-centred design and service design principles
* Experience researching accessibility and/or assisted digital user needs
* Demonstrated ability to champion research-led decision-making
* Experience in mentoring or line managing researchers
* Advanced stakeholder management skills, including handling complex or sensitive discussions
* Strong consultancy mindset with the ability to define and shape problem spaces
* Experience in a consultancy or client-facing environment
* Exposure to public sector or large-scale digital transformation programmes

Additional Requirements
* Candidates must be based within reasonable travelling distance of a UK office and be open to travel, including client site work where required
