An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Maternity Support Worker to support the Bereavement Midwife Team predominantly in the hospital setting, however requires community visits. You will be experienced in supporting maternity care, enthusiastic and caring, and must be able to work autonomously, demonstrating excellent clinical skills to provide women centred care.
Under the guidance of the Bereavement Midwife, your duties will include: making phone calls to health professionals and bereaved families, making referrals, administration tasks, making appointments and ensuring all contact is documented on the computer system. The role will involve assisting with the coordination and delivery of all aspects of bereavement care planning, following the necessary training, the post holder will support the wider Midwifery team to provide clinical care to bereaved families.
The nature of this post requires that the post holder can convey complex distressing information in a clear, concise and appropriate manner. Excellent communication skills, that are sensitive and appropriate are essential for delivering the highest standards of maternity bereavement care.
