GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Paint Technician on behalf of an independent garage. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.
The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn, putting theory into practice within a training environment. Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship. The training centre will be attended for week block release of training, with practical learning in the workplace.
Responsibilities / What you will do
* Work full time in a Garage Paint Shop
* Earn while you learn and gain a SCQF automotive qualification
* Training through GTG to SCQF Level 6 in Vehicle Refinishing
* Attend training centre for week block release and undertake regular assessments in the workplace
* Contribute to vehicle paint repair tasks and housekeeping
What you will learn / Typical training content
* Preparing metal and pre-painted surfaces
* Establishing defects on motor vehicles
* Spot repair on motor vehicles and blend/fade out repair
* Edge to edge repair and colour matching for motor vehicles
* Advanced colour matching for motor vehicles
* Maintaining working relationships and complying with health and safety
Qualifications
* You must have or expect to gain National 4 or above in English, Maths, and either a Science or Technical Subject. If you are working towards these qualifications, please state this in your application.
* You must have or expect to gain a full UK Driving licence; training will take place in Glasgow.
