Your role

Our team based in Barnoldswick, Lancashire, providing logistics and supply chain solutions for a prestigious aerospace client, is looking for a highly organised and client-focused Operations Controller. You will oversee two core shifts, leading efficient planning targets, driving organisation, operational excellence, and effective communication to ensure the team meets operational objectives and client service levels.

This opportunity is on a Monday to Friday day shift, managing a team of nine across two nearby operations. Salary up to £30,781 per annum.


What are you going to do?

* Report into the Regional Operations Manager and lead a diverse team of warehouse coordinators, operatives and drivers to drive engagement, continuous improvement, quality, safety, and performance targets to meet operation needs.
* Manage and deploy operational controls ensuring resource availability across shifts and report on performance and productivity.
* Address and investigate service failures, implement remedial action and longer-term solutions.
* Lead site-based audits with operational management and functional experts to ensure compliance with regulatory, health and safety standards.
* Collaborate with internal management, administration and control tower teams and engage with the client to provide operational performance updates; build strong relationships at all levels.


What are we looking for?

* Proven experience leading or supervising a warehousing or logistics team; skilled in people management (absence, holidays, sickness).
* Strong health and safety awareness and a continuous improvement mindset (LEAN or Kaizen).
* Experience in statistical analysis and reporting; proficient with WMS systems and IT packages such as MS Excel; able to present productivity, improvements and cost-saving initiatives to client and management.
* Resilient and pragmatic approach; advantageous but not essential to have aerospace industry experience.
