We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and professional medical secretary to join our existing team. Experience of working within a GP Surgery environment is preferable.
The role is full time Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of the medical secretary's job is to ensure that patient referrals are created and sent off in a timely manner to the correct department and with all necessary documentation included. Excellent typing skills, grammar and customer service skills are required along with a professional attitude at all times.

Job responsibilities
* Typing letters, reports and associated documentation as required.
* Liaising with external agencies such as Hospitals and Community Services, ensuring referrals are processed efficiently.
* Managing all enquiries in an effective manner.
* Maintaining an accurate referrals database.
* Actioning all incoming emails.
* Processing calling letters as requested.
* Scanning of patient related documentation and attaching scanned documents to patient's healthcare records.
* Inputting data on to patient's healthcare records as necessary.
* Processing referrals using the electronic referral system (ERS).
* Clinically coding data on to EMIS.
* Managing all administrative queries as necessary.
* Carrying out system searches as requested.
* Maintaning a clean, tidy and effective working area at all times.
* Supporting all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested.
Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working as a medical secretary within a GP Surgery is preferable but not essential.
