Are you looking for an exciting new opportunity as a Purchasing Manager? We are working with a fast-growing FMCG business that upholds high standards in workplace environment, company values, sustainability, and wellbeing.
This is a full-time, permanent role based in Newry, Northern Ireland.
The role:
* Managing and implementing the company’s procurement strategy to support strategic growth plans.
* Main areas of spend include packaging, ingredients, and utilities.
* Negotiating terms with suppliers and managing performance based on value for money, quality, delivery, and service levels.
* Collaborating with finance to support pricing initiatives.
* Monthly reporting to management.
* Ensuring the supply of ingredients and packaging within targeted levels.
* Sourcing new suppliers in line with sustainability strategies.
* Managing indirect spending.
* Implementing profit improvement strategies.
* Developing formal product sector category strategies.
* Gathering market intelligence to maintain strong positioning.
* Engaging with key stakeholders.
* Developing risk management strategies.
* Managing the procurement team.
Skills & Experience Required:
* Proven experience managing procurement teams in the FMCG sector.
* MCIPS qualification or equivalent.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Values and purpose-driven mindset.
* Excellent numeracy skills and proficiency in MS Excel.
* Outstanding negotiation abilities.
* Capability to lead and make difficult decisions for business support.
* Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* Experience building strong supplier relationships with regular performance reviews.
