What You’ll Be Doing

1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Cirencester
Start: ASAP
Hours: Full‑time or part‑time available
A supportive primary school in Cirencester is looking for amitted SEN Teaching Assistant to provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate about helping children access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.
Role Overview
1. Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
2. Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
3. Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
4. Assist with classroom routines, transitions and small‑group activities where needed
Candidate Profile
5. Previous SEN experience is essential
6. Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupil needs
7. Strongmunication and rapport‑building skills
8. Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable
9. Driving licence advantageous (due to school location)
SEN training highly valued, including:
10. Understanding Autism
11. ADHD Awareness
12. Team Teach / De‑escalation Training
13. Trauma‑Informed Practice
14. BSL or other munication‑focused training
15. Makaton (highly desirable)

SEN Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the experience, empathy, and resilience to support pupils in achieving their full potential?
Key Responsibilities:
20. Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.
21. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
22. Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
23. Support pupils in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
24. Monitor progress and contribute to assessment and review processes.
What We’re Looking For:
25. Proven experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
26. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
27. Strong munication and teamwork skills.
28. Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training).
