Job summary: Bartender (Bourbon Bar)
Part of the JW Steakhouse team in The Bourbon Bar, You are a bright mixologist who is always on the lookout for new beverage trends. When you are behind the bar, you create an energy that is both welcoming and exciting. What you’ll do as our newly appointed Bartender:
Drink Preparation & Service:
1. Prepare and serve a variety of cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences
2. Ensure consistent drink quality by following proper pouring, mixing, and presentation techniques
3. Recommend drinks based on customer preferences and menu pairings
4. Experiment with and create new cocktails to enhance the menu
Customer Engagement & Experience:
5. Provide friendly, welcoming, and attentive service to all guests
6. Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat visits
7. Handle guest complaints professionally and resolve issues promptly
8. Educate customers about drink specials, menu items, and promotions
Bar Maintenance & Cleanliness:
9. Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar area at all times
10. Wash and sanitize barware, tools, and surfaces regularly
11. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food and beverage handling procedures
12. Set up and break down the bar before and after shifts
Inventory & Cash Handling:
13. Monitor stock levels and communicate shortages to management
14. Assist with inventory counts and restocking supplies
15. Ensure proper handling and storage of bar ingredients
16. Process transactions accurately using the POS system and handle cash responsibly
Compliance & Safety:
17. Verify customer identification and ensure responsible alcohol service
18. Monitor guests for signs of overconsumption and take appropriate action
19. Follow all company policies, state liquor laws, and local regulations
20. Maintain proper licensing and certifications as required
Team Collaboration:
21. Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and management to provide a seamless guest experience
22. Assist with special events, private parties, and promotions as needed
23. Support other team members during busy shifts
