* Instructor: £29,300 benchmark (dependent on experience)
About the Role
An Ofsted-rated further education college in Warwickshire is seeking a new team member to support its thriving Plumbing department. Whether you're an experienced lecturer with teaching qualifications or a skilled plumbing professional ready to move into education, this opportunity offers the flexibility to apply as either a Lecturer or an Instructor depending on your background.
This permanent role is focused on teaching and assessing students across Levels 1 to 3, within both classroom and workshop settings. The college boasts modern facilities, strong employer links, and a commitment to supporting staff development.
Responsibilities
You will be delivering high-quality teaching and practical training to students working towards their qualifications in Plumbing. Responsibilities will vary slightly depending on your path:
Lecturer Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging theory-based lessons from Level 1 to Level 3
* Plan schemes of work, sessions and assessments in line with curriculum requirements
* Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback
* Carry out assessing and internal verification (IQA if qualified)
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance and attainment
* Liaise with employers and support student work placements
Instructor Responsibilities
* Deliver hands-on, practical plumbing training in a workshop environment
* Assess students competency and provide feedback
* Support learners with developing trade skills and safe working practices
* Work closely with lecturers and curriculum staff to align delivery with academic content
Candidate Requirements
Lecturer Applicants Will Need
* A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, CertEd, DTLLS, or equivalent)
* Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, or equivalent)
* Ideally, Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification
* Experience delivering L1 L3 plumbing in a college or training setting
Instructor Applicants Will Need
* A minimum Level 3 qualification in Plumbing (or equivalent)
* Significant industry experience in plumbing or building services
* Confidence delivering practical demonstrations and assessing learners in workshop settings
* Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification, if not already held
