About the Role As a Parts Assistant at The Vella Group, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient flow of automotive parts within our accident repair centre. You’ll be responsible for receiving, inspecting, and organising all incoming parts and supplies, ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely availability for the workshop teams. This role is essential in helping us deliver a seamless and efficient repair process for our customers. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inspection Receive deliveries of automotive parts, tools, and related supplies. Check incoming items thoroughly, verifying part numbers, quantities, and overall quality. Highlight and report any damaged, incorrect, or faulty parts to the Manager immediately. Match deliveries against purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices to ensure full accuracy. Inventory Management Organise, label, and store parts in their designated locations within the parts department. Maintain a clean, safe, and accessible storage environment. Update internal systems with accurate stock levels, part descriptions, and availability. Documentation & Reporting Keep accurate, up‑to‑date records of all received parts and any discrepancies. Complete and submit receiving reports promptly. Manage documentation relating to returns, warranties, and exchanges as required. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with the Central Procurement team to ensure stock accuracy and availability. Coordinate with the same team to prioritise urgent or backordered parts. Liaise with suppliers to resolve queries relating to deliveries, shortages, or incorrect shipments. General Duties Maintain a tidy, organised, and compliant receiving and storage area. Provide support to other parts department functions when required, including customer-facing duties during busy periods. Support wider site operations as needed, which may include occasional tasks at alternative locations. Additional Information Flexibility is essential in this role, particularly during peak periods.
