Overview
Logistics Operative role at De La Rue, Westhoughton, England, United Kingdom. You will be responsible for all internal and external movements of goods and materials, ensuring they are processed correctly and reconciled onto the ERP system. You will maintain relevant standards and SOPs, ensuring that physical counts and ERP levels align to deliver 100% stock accuracy and that defects are not passed into the manufacturing process.
Key Accountabilities
* Check incoming materials/deliveries for conformance to standard, ensuring paperwork reflects what is received, is correctly labelled, and fully adheres to the supplier’s specification.
* Manage the segregation and release process of any defect goods in accordance with Quality procedures.
* Ensure stock returned from WIP areas and direct-to-supplier are secured in the correct area, correctly labelled, and aligned on ERP.
* Manage rotation of component parts for press and other machinery within manufacturing processes (e.g., impression cylinders, rubbers and sleeves).
* Ensure goods being dispatched are to the required standard and match the goods listed on the delivery note.
* Safeguard waste disposal (including operating the granulating machine in line with the SOP) and identify, segregate, and store waste before removal from site.
* Ensure despatches / sales orders are completed to achieve OTIF.
* Carry out stocktaking on a daily/monthly basis.
* Load vehicles for incoming/outgoing deliveries.
* Support machine set-ups by ensuring stock and component parts are ready for press in line with production targets.
* Plan and book the collection of external waste with the Shipping Coordinator and Logistics Team.

Qualifications
Essential
* Fork Lift and Flexi Truck License (Training will be provided).
* Good knowledge and understanding of the Microsoft suite and WMS and ERP systems.
* Good organisational and planning skills; controlling quality and working to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
* Logical, methodical approach to work; accuracy in taking measurements, recording and inputting data.
* Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
* Physically fit with good manual handling skills.
* Ability to prioritise and organise tasks, work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
* Good team-working skills.
* Good problem-solving skills.
Desirable
* Knowledge of Quality Systems e.g. ISO9001; experience in a quality inspection environment.
* Previous experience in a Quality inspection role including quality processes/audits.
* Knowledge of production/technical processes and procedures with respect to SQCDP.
