Job Title: Higher-Level Teaching Assistant
Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent BR2 7AB
Salary: Up to £26,000.00 per annum dependent on experience (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am–4:30pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
Start: October 2025

About the Role
As part of our continued growth, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated and close-knit team at Baston House School, part of the Options Autism family. You will help teachers deliver engaging and creative lessons tailored to the needs of our pupils, supporting achievement, independence, and confidence. You will work with pupils in individual and small group settings, lead lessons when required, build positive relationships, and contribute to a strong safeguarding culture. A proactive, flexible approach to classroom support and behaviour management is essential.
Responsibilities
* Support teaching and learning in individual and small group settings
* Lead lessons or parts of lessons when required
* Assist with planning, monitoring, and assessment as directed by teachers
* Promote pupil engagement, independence, and confidence
* Contribute to maintaining a strong safeguarding culture and effective behaviour management
We’re Looking For Someone Who
* Has achieved Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) status
* Has experience working within an SEN/ASC (Autism Spectrum Condition) setting
* Is calm, confident, and resilient in the face of challenges
* Can work independently and collaboratively as part of a wider education team
* Is confident leading lessons or small groups when required
* Is committed to empowering every pupil to reach their full potential
Qualifications
* English and Maths GCSE (essential)
* HLTA qualification (desirable)

4DWW: You’ll work 80% of your contractual hours for 100% of your pay. The 4-Day Week is subject to successful probation and is not a contractual benefit.
