Location: Crewkerne, Somerset
Working Days/Hours: 4 on 4 off, 7pm – 7am
Salary: £29, per annum
Contract Type: Temp to Perm or Permanent
Start Date: Immediate
Job Description: We are seeking a Production Team Leader with experience in food production to manage night shift operations. In this role, you will oversee the efficient and safe running of food production lines, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance are maintained. You will be responsible for managing the night shift team, ensuring smooth production, and addressing any challenges that may arise during the shift.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the operation of food production lines, including pasteurisers, separators, and other key equipment.
* Manage the loading of finished product tankers, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
* Lead, build, and develop the night shift production team to meet performance goals.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for all night shift operations and liaise with day shift management.
* Train new team members on production processes, hygiene standards, and equipment operation.
* Ensure production is running according to schedule while maintaining food safety, quality, and efficiency.
* Troubleshoot and resolve any production or equipment issues to minimize downtime.
* Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation complies with food industry standards.
Desired Candidate Skills:
* Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within food production is essential.
* Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and compliance requirements (e.g., HACCP, BRC).
* Experience managing production teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
* Ability to identify and resolve production-related issues quickly and efficiently.
* Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and training.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across departments.
