The University of York is seeking an HR Advisor to join our central HR Operations team to provide strategic and operational advice and support to academic and professional services departments across the University. Reporting to the HR Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in delivering strategic and operational HR solutions This is a part-time (29.6 hours per week), fixed-term 12-month contract. Key Responsibilities include: Being the lead contact for certain academic and professional services departments, providing day-to-day HR operational services, and supporting HR case work across other departments. Forming effective relationships with managers to coach, influence, and enable them to effectively lead and manage their staff. Providing effective advice and support to managers, including attending formal meetings, on a full range of HR issues. Advising and supporting managers leading on organisational change, including trade union consultation, communications, and individual consultation. Contributing to employee relations activities like committees, consultation, and negotiation forums. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed A full list is available on the job description but tangible qualifications and previous experience must include: Graduate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development or substantial equivalent experience. Significant generalist HR advisory experience. Good, up-to-date knowledge of employment law and HR good practise.
