The Engineering Supervisor role is to ensure maintenance support is continuously provided to the Management Team and production department to achieve sustained improvement in overall equipment efficiency (OEE) and Maintenance KPIs, while assisting the production team in attaining best-in-class status.
The Maintenance Supervisor will have full accountability, control, and responsibility for all mechanical/electrical maintenance issues on their shifts, including inputting programmed activities for the upcoming shifts.
The position’s success will be measured through safety, environmental, and operational performance levels, with a focus on continuous improvement for business efficiencies.
The primary activity involves leading the maintenance team to ensure safety and performance standards, following Heidelberg Materials’ safe systems of work outlined in the IMS.
The role emphasizes:
* Health and Safety: Operating at the highest safety standards, implementing continuous improvement plans, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
* Environmental: Ensuring compliance with environmental objectives and initiatives.
* Contractor Management: Supervising contractors involved in maintenance activities during shifts.
* Compliance: Adhering to statutory legislation and company regulations.
* KPI Delivery: Improving OEE from 60% to over 90%, ensuring maintenance schedule compliance, increasing MTBF, and reducing repair times.
* Operations and Quality: Achieving optimal production levels at minimal costs, ensuring high-quality standards.
* Business Analysis: Working with operations to ensure management information is accurate and utilized effectively.
Additional responsibilities include:
* Supporting continual business improvement targets and adherence to the Aggregates Management Handbook.
* Assisting with data collection for global KPIs.
* Ensuring adequate resourcing, training, and development of maintenance teams.
* Managing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to prioritize tasks and monitor performance.
* Controlling operational and maintenance activities, including safety, environmental, Capex, and revenue controls.
* Ensuring effective handovers between shifts for safety and operational continuity.
* Collaborating on maintenance planning, scheduling, and continuous improvement initiatives.
* Maintaining 5S standards and managing unscheduled/emergency maintenance promptly and safely.
* Supporting root cause analysis investigations into asset failures.
