We're seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team and help shape the future of our brand.
What You'll Do
Perform daily bank reconciliations across 8 eight bank accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of discrepancies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer account records, including processing payments, allocating receipts, and updating account information in the financial system.
Support the Credit Controller with the proactive management of 450+ Trade accounts, including credit control, debt chasing, and resolving overdue balances.
Assist in monitoring customer credit limits and highlight accounts requiring review or escalation.
Manage the Receivables inbox, ensuring timely responses and professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Handle and maintain department store account reconciliations and other marketplaces
Support month-end closing activities, including reconciliations, reporting, and documentation.
Maintain organised filing systems, ensuring audit-ready documentation for AR, credit notes, and customer correspondence.
Provide ad-hoc support across Finance during busy periods, holidays, or cross-team projects.
Collaborate with the wider finance team to identify and implement process improvements within accounts receivable.

Experienced user of Excel and Microsoft Office packages
Previous experience within a finance or accounts receivable function preferred
Able to work closely with the Credit Controller, taking direction, collaborating effectively, and supporting shared objectives
Willing to learn internal procedures and continuously develop skills within the finance function
Discreet and trustworthy when handling sensitive financial information
