Who Are Blue Diamond Properties?
Blue Diamond are a family-owned organisation that has one primary goal: to help those in need to live as independently as possible.
We provide homes and support to a range of individuals in Dover and Folkestone; from young people who need support as they enter adulthood, to individuals with additional needs such as learning disabilities, mental health, or autism. We create person-centred environments and packages of care to provide the best opportunities for successful independent living.
We are going through an exciting period of change and would love it if you came along on the journey
About the Role
Being a Support Worker is one of the most rewarding roles you can get. Not only do you get to see people achieve their goals, you also get to be part of the reason they do it
At Blue Diamond we are all about encouraging and supporting independence, and understand that this can look different for everyone. Taking time to get to know the person you are supporting, and celebrating each and every milestone, is therefore essential.
Providing support will look different every day. You will work across a number of services to provide high quality care in accordance with the specific needs of the individual.
Just some of the things you might do as a Support Worker with Blue Diamond includes:
· Support the development of key life skills such as maintaining their homes, managing their finances, helping to prepare meals, using public transport, or taking them shopping.
· Provide emotional or behavioural support, and find ways to create positive and calming environments to help the individual to feel safe and cared for.
· Help to maintain healthy relationships with friends and families.
· Provide encouragement to do the things they enjoy such as sports, films, or music, or to go to new and exciting places such as the cinema, concerts, restaurants, or to the shops. We encourage you to introduce the people we support to new experiences and interests
· Support with educational programmes, or help to find work placements that link to the interests and skills of the person you support.
