Waste & Cleansing HGV/LGV Driver

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated Waste & Cleansing HGV/LGV Driver to join our frontline team. In this role, you’ll be more than just a driver- you’ll be a leader, ensuring essential services run smoothly and keeping Nottingham clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.
What you’ll do
1. Drive and take responsibility for our Waste & Cleansing vehicles (up to HGV)
2. Lead and support a crew of up to 4 operatives, mentoring new drivers and helping the team succeed
3. Deliver a wide range of services: refuse, recycling, street cleansing, and winter gritting support
4. Always ensure safety – for yourself, your crew, and the public
5. Carry out daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance, and keep vehicles roadworthy and presentable
6. Use in-cab systems to keep services efficient and responsive
7. Work flexibly across the city (and surrounding areas), in all weathers, as part of a dedicated public service team
Guaranteed Interview if you meet these 3 requirements:
8. Hold a Category C (HGV Class II) driving licence
9. Have a valid Driver CPC card
10. Experience/knowledge of the safe operation and driving vehicles such as refuse collection vehicles, gritters and mainline sweepers
