Home-Start Hampshire supports families with children aged 0-11 years who, for a myriad of reasons are finding life challenging.

Through our network of trained volunteers, we work with families one-to-one and in small group settings to provide tailored emotional and practical support when they need it most.

Your Role

An exciting opportunity to manage the delivery of Home-Start Hampshire support to families with children aged 0-11 years in the Rushmoor & Hart area. The Area Manager is responsible for delivering our service locally, including overseeing group programmes and managing a team of trained volunteers to deliver one-to-one home-based support for families.

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm and motivation, to help grow our volunteer network, to support families on their journey of change and raise awareness of Home-Start Hampshire within the communities we operate.

Duties will include:

* Delivery of Home-Start Hampshire services in Rushmoor & Hart, in accordance with HSH policies, standards, and external legislation and within budget.
* Nominated designated safeguarding person within area.
* Identify the demand for services and oversee service delivery, risks, referrals numbers and waitlists across the area.
* Manage a team of Project Coordinators, ensuring any local projects are on target.
* Recruit, coach, develop and supervise a team of volunteers to undertake their volunteer role across all areas of service delivery, including home-visiting, group support, and community team ambassadors.
* Be the key link between local and central leadership, identifying and enabling local activities to be supported.
* Work collaboratively with internal and external partners and promote high quality relationships to create a safe and inclusive environment for all.
* Support impact reporting on all delivery activities and projects.

About you

The ideal candidate will have:

* Experience delivering family support 1-1 and in group settings, with an understanding of wider services available (locally and nationally).
* Experience in volunteer management including recruiting, training, and supervising.
* Experience dealing with and managing safeguarding issues.
* Experience delivering projects, working to budget, and delivering clearly defined outcomes.
* IT literate with confidence and willingness to learn new skills.
* Enthusiastic and able to work with others at every level to achieve a shared goal.
* Motivated, resilient, and flexible, enjoys tackling goals and problem solving.
* Full driving licence with access to a vehicle for work purposes.

Desirable:

* Experience working for a charity / within the charity sector.
* Experience writing case studies and impact reports.
* Parenting experience, or substantial understanding gained through an equivalent caring role.
* Experience of supporting fundraising and awareness raising activities, including events.

Home-Start Hampshire operates a flexible working policy. The role will require periods of working from home and in the community, as well as travel in and around Rushmoor & Hart. Some weekend and evening work may be requested to attend events.

Satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS check will be required.
