European Supply Chain Development Manager (Construction & Engineering)
We are seeking a highly driven European Supply Chain Development Manager to strengthen and expand our network of approved suppliers, subcontractors, and service partners across Europe. This field-based role plays a critical part in supporting the company’s growth into new regions by identifying, vetting, and onboarding reliable partners in line with our construction and engineering project requirements.
You will conduct on-the-ground market research, engage with potential supply chain partners, perform due diligence checks, and manage the full onboarding lifecycle to ensure partners meet our commercial, technical, safety, and compliance standards.
Based in HQ, Mullaghbawn, Northern Ireland with frequent travel across Europe required.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Expansion & Development
* Research, identify, and engage new suppliers, subcontractors, and service partners across European regions.
* Conduct site visits to assess partner capabilities, capacity, and alignment with project needs.
* Support the business in exploring new geographic markets by mapping local supply chain opportunities.
Due Diligence & Compliance
* Lead supplier pre-qualification, reference checks, financial stability reviews, and compliance assessments.
* Ensure all partners meet company standards and relevant industry regulations (e.g. ISO, safety, sustainability).
* Work with Procurement, HSE, and Legal teams to ensure contractual and accreditation requirements are fulfilled.
Onboarding & Relationship Management
* Manage the full partner onboarding process from first contact to approved supplier status.
* Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers to ensure reliable project delivery.
* Develop supplier performance dashboards and recommend improvements or interventions when required.
Internal Collaboration & Market Intelligence
* Liaise with Operations, Engineering, and Commercial teams to ensure supply chain capability aligns with project pipelines.
* Provide market insights on supply chain risks, pricing trends, emerging technologies, and regional regulatory considerations.
* Contribute to supply chain strategies that support business expansion and competitive positioning.
Qualifications & Skills:
* Proven experience in supplier development, procurement, business development, or supply chain management within construction, engineering, or industrial sectors.
* Strong understanding of subcontractor vetting, technical capability assessment, and compliance frameworks.
* Demonstrated experience working across multiple European markets.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Willingness to travel extensively across Europe (50–70%)
Desirable (Not Essential):
* Experience with ISO standards, supplier audits, ESG compliance, or pre-qualification platforms.
* Fluency in one or more European languages (e.g. German, French, Spanish, Dutch)
* Familiarity with digital procurement/supplier onboarding systems.
