Job Summary
At The Wheels Project, we provide hands-on motor vehicle based programmes that offer young people who are struggling in mainstream education the chance to discover new skills, confidence, and direction. As our Office Manager, you'll play a vital role in keeping our charity running smoothly and supporting our team to make an even greater impact on the lives of the young people that attend with us.
About the role
As our Office Manager, you'll play a central part in the success of our organisation. You'll oversee day-to-day office functions, financial administration, compliance, and operational coordination, supporting both the General Manager and the wider team. From managing payroll and finances to liaising with auditors, funders, and contractors, this is a varied role where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities
* Oversee payroll, pensions, invoicing, and reconciliations using SAGE.
* Lead on compliance, governance, and safeguarding processes.
* Ensure smooth office and IT operations, acting as the go-to for systems and suppliers.
* Support funding bids, audits, and reporting for trustees and external partners.
* Maintain our website, digital content, and publicity materials.
* Provide PA support to the General Manager, including diary and correspondence management.
About you
We're looking for someone with:
* At least 10 years' experience in office management, administration, or a similar role.
* Strong financial administration skills and familiarity with SAGE (or similar).
* Excellent organisation and multitasking abilities.
* Confidence with IT systems, including Microsoft Office suite.
* Knowledge of compliance, safeguarding, and data management (ideally in a charity or education setting).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* We offer you 50 days paid holiday per annum. You will be required to carry out some financial duties during the holidays as and when required.
Desirable (but not essential):
* Experience in the charity or education sector.
* Knowledge of fundraising administration and reporting.
* Familiarity with website updates and publicity material production.
