Teaching Personnel is seeking dedicated and compassionate QTS‑qualified SEND Teachers to support our partner SEND, primary, and secondary settings across Durham. This is an excellent opportunity for teachers experienced in, or passionate about, working with pupils who have a range of additional needs.
Whether you specialise in autism support, SEMH, complex needs, PMLD, or general SEND provision, we can offer flexible and rewarding supply work that suits your availability.
Role Overview
Teach and support pupils with a range of SEND needs across EYFS–KS4
Adapt lessons to meet individual learning plans and abilities
Collaborate with support staff, SENCOs, and wider school teams
Maintain a calm, nurturing, and structured learning environment
Work flexibly on a supply basis with full‑time, part‑time, and ad‑hoc options available
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience working with SEND pupils (school-, placement-, or role-based)
Ability to differentiate teaching effectively
Strong behaviour management and a patient, empathetic approach
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
Two suitable professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
