The 20 Month BSc (Hons) Midwifery Shortened Programme at Middlesex University aims to produce competent, caring, research and evidence-based midwives, capable of delivering effective woman-centred care for mothers and their families. This full-time programme commences September 2065.
During the 20 Month course, time will be split between the Middlesex University, Hendon and The Royal London.

Active Adult Nursing Registration (NMC Registration)
Diploma or degree in Adult Nursing
GCSE Maths and English or equivalencies or IELTS 7.0

Main duties of the job
To attain a registered midwifery qualification.
To communicate effectively with women and their families throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages under the supervision of the Registered Midwife (Practice Supervisor/Assessor).
To diagnose pregnancy, assess and monitor women holistically throughout the preconception, antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal stages through the use of a range of assessment methods and reach valid, reliable and comprehensive conclusions under the supervision of the Registered Midwife.
To work towards the midwifery standards of proficiency that is contained in the Electronic Midwifery Ongoing Record of Achievement.
To work towards achieving experience under supervision of the activities of the midwife as outlined in the European Union Midwives Directive (80/155/EEC Article 4) and the NMC (2019) standards of proficiencies for student midwives.
Qualifications
* Degree/ Diploma in Adult Nursing. 120 Level 4 credits and 60 level 5 credits
* IELTs level 7 or equivalent
* NMC registration
* Evidence of relevant CPD courses
Experience
* Post registration experience in a nursing setting
* Experience within a maternity setting
Knowledge
* Up-to-date knowledge of professional Midwifery issues.
* Able to prioritise care appropriately.
* Understanding of inter‑agency working i.e. Child Protection and Domestic Violence.
* Understanding of the principles of EDI within maternity
* Has knowledge of Trust's Policies and Procedures
* Understanding of governance and evidence-based practice.
