Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Planner to support the smooth and efficient coordination of logistical activities across the operation. You will play a key role in planning and organising all necessary activities to ensure client orders are processed accurately and the logistical process runs seamlessly.
Location: Wakefield
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off 06:00-18:00
Key Responsibilities
* In this role, you will support the coordination and scheduling of orders using the warehouse management system, working closely with the Planning Manager and wider planning team to ensure activities are completed in line with client and haulier agreements.
* You will issue process orders to forklift truck drivers and pickers, monitor schedules and make adjustments where required, and maintain daily communication with clients, hauliers, and their representatives regarding progress, priorities, anomalies, and operational issues.
* The role also involves identifying and escalating issues to the Planning Manager, assisting investigations and adhoc customer restacks, processing administrative information relating to logistical activities, monitoring and managing the planning email inbox, and providing support across warehouse planning, export works, and customer communications.

Requirements
* We’re looking for someone with previous planning and customer service experience, ideally within a logistics or warehouse environment.
* You should be confident using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office, with strong communication, organisational, and multitasking skills.
* The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing priorities, and communicate effectively with clients, hauliers, and internal teams is essential.
* A proactive approach, attention to detail, and the ability to support the wider planning operation are also important for success in this role.
