Job Description

As a Team Leader at Hobbycraft, you will assist the Store Manager in the day‑to‑day running of the store. You will also be responsible for running the store in the Store Manager’s absence, delivering excellent customer service that encourages repeat visits and drives incremental sales. Delivering a truly customer‑focused experience is key to our continued success. As an integral member of the management team, you will demonstrate our brand values in every aspect of your work.

Job Type – Team Leader

Salary – £13.74 per hour

Areas of Responsibility

* Teamwork and Leadership – lead by example, coach colleagues to drive outstanding customer service and commercial awareness in the team.
* Brand ambassador – be passionate about the Hobbycraft brand, embracing change in a positive and proactive way.
* Planner – ensure the store is set for a successful day of trade.
* Relationship builder – treat everyone fairly and with dignity and respect, adhering to Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging policy.
* Merchandiser – coordinate deliveries, manual handling is essential.
* Click and Collect – coordinate the Click and Collect process.
* Policy expert – comply with Company policies and Health and Safety Regulations.
* Communicator – deliver clear and concise communications, such as key messages and daily targets.
* Workshops – host various workshops in‑store.
* Store Management – support the Store Manager in day‑to‑day management, responsible for opening/closing the store, keyholding, cash controls, PI counts, general admin, back‑of‑house access, colleague security, and data compliance.
* Recruitment – assist with recruitment, induction and training of new colleagues.
* Colleague Support – provide support and coaching for colleagues where appropriate.


Experience

* A proven track record of the following in a retail or similar environment:
*
o Duty management experience is advantageous
o Passionate about sales and driving profit
o Keyholding
o Cash handling and security awareness
o Coaching colleagues
o Merchandising experience
o Health and safety compliance
o Awareness of store key performance indicators (KPIs)
* Effective time management
* Determination to inspire success within your team

Job Suitability

This role would suit a current Team Leader in a Retail, or similar, environment, or an experienced colleague looking to make their first move onto the Management career path. The candidate should be a confident and professional individual, who is able to support the management of a diverse team in a fast‑paced environment; someone who is calm and resilient, able to work well under pressure and cope with changing priorities.
