Accountant, Otley, £34,000-£40,000
An established chartered accountancy practice in Otley is recruiting for an accounts senior/accountant.
Reporting to the Associate Partner, you will be responsible for the preparation of financial accounts for a variety of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.
To be considered, you must have experience of working for an accountancy firm and live commutable distance to Otley.
Their working week is 34 hours from Monday to Thursday with one day WFH.
They offer flexitime, working hours can be worked between 6am-10pm
Main Duties
Review financial information to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the primary point of contact.
Preparation of management accounts, tax computations, and VAT returns.
Liaise with auditors and tax advisers to ensure deadlines are met.
Provide financial advice and support to clients, contributing to business development.
Ensure that all statutory deadlines are met.
Requirements
Minimum of four years of experience in a similar role within an accountancy firm.
Proven experience in preparing financial statements and management accounts.
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and relevant tax legislation.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and provide excellent customer service.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly to non-financial clients.
