Family Support Worker
Location: Ilford
Hours: 40 per week (including some evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
Salary: From £27,352 per annum

The Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will work directly with families to:
1. Provide guidance on all aspects of daily life, including parenting, budgeting, routines, and healthy living.
2. Support parents in developing essential parenting skills while always promoting the welfare of children.
3. Develop, implement, and monitor family placement and assessment plans.
4. Work collaboratively with parents, family members, and professionals such as GPs, health visitors, and social workers.
5. Maintain accurate and evidence-based documentation.
6. Ensure a safe and supportive environment for families and children.
You will also have the opportunity to develop leadership skills. After completing probation, you may take on responsibilities as a Shift Lead, overseeing the care and safety of families, supervising staff, and ensuring smooth running of shifts.
About You
We're looking for someone who is approachable, resilient, and a strong communicator. You should have:
7. Experience working with children and families.
8. A minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in Childcare & Education or a relevant field.
9. Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and child development.
10. The ability to build trust and supportive relationships with families who may be facing complex challenges.
11. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear reports.
