JOB TITLE: TOWN PLANNERLOCATION: CORNWALL
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well respected consultancy in their search for a Town Planner to join their team in Cornwall.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established and highly regarded planning consultancy with a strong presence across the South West. The successful Town Planner will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including residential, rural, and commercial developments, gaining valuable exposure and responsibility within a supportive team environment.
THE ROLE
You will be involved in delivering planning projects from initial site appraisal through to submission and determination, supporting a wide range of clients.
This role is ideal for a Town Planner looking to develop their experience across varied sectors, while working closely with senior team members and building strong client relationships.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Preparing and managing planning applications and appeals * Undertaking site appraisals and planning feasibility assessments * Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities and key stakeholders * Supporting senior planners on complex projects * Attending site visits, client meetings, and consultations * Conducting planning policy research and analysis * Supporting project delivery to meet deadlines and client expectations
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or a related discipline * Working towards MRTPI (or recently achieved) * Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority environment * Strong knowledge of UK planning policy and legislation * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Strong organisational skills and attention to detail * A proactive and team-oriented approach
