Job Title: Data Centre Shift Relief Engineer

Purpose of the Job
To cover the shift at the Hayes site when the resident engineers are on annual leave/absent; carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive works to building infrastructure/plant, and respond to site engineering requests and emergencies in accordance with agreed service levels.
Undertake small installation works, repairs to building fabric, and general facilities repairs.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure annual leave on the contract is covered.
* Carry out routine maintenance to all building plant, equipment and systems to meet and exceed expectations and agreed service level agreements.
* Respond to Building Management System alarms and effect emergency repairs as needed.
* Issue and ensure appropriate controls within the Permit to Work systems.
* Ensure that ACOPs applicable to the maintenance industry are followed.
* Ensure suitable spares are available to carry out maintenance of the plant.
* Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
* Supervise engineering subcontractors and ensure compliance with contractual commitments and site operating processes.
* Develop good working relationships with CBRE staff and client staff.
* Provide a safe and healthy working environment and comply with all Company and client policies and procedures.
* Present a professional image of CBRE and deliver excellent customer service at all times.
* Maintain professional and technical skills through personal development and lifelong learning.
* Maintain logbooks, shift hand-overs, and client reporting.
Accountabilities
* Accountable to Contract Manager and Site Supervisor.
* No direct reporting staff.
* No direct budgetary responsibility.
* Accountable for maintaining appropriate stocks of spares and consumables, and ensuring their secure storage and controlled issue.
Personal Specification
* Education: A good basic education is essential, with good written and spoken English and basic Mathematics skills.
* Training: The engineer must be formally trained in mechanical and electrical services maintenance, or have equivalent training or knowledge. City & Guilds 236 parts 1 & 2 (or later) 17th Edition or equivalent qualification.
* Up-to-date skills on building management systems, ACOPs, fire and environmental control, building control, and health and safety.
Experience
* Experience of mission critical facilities maintenance, including UPS systems, BMS operation, emergency standby generators, and testing of electrical systems.
* Comprehensive mechanical and electrical engineering experience, undertaking reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
* Strong understanding of health and safety obligations related to maintenance activities.

* Strong computer skills for reporting, logging PPMs, work reports and incidences on client systems
