Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Warehouse Operative/Forklift Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing materials, operating forklift trucks, and supporting daily warehouse operations. Responsibilities
* Safely operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport goods within the warehouse
* Manage stock levels using the warehouse management system (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
* Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including checking deliveries and preparing items for dispatch
* Handle materials efficiently, ensuring proper storage and organisation of stock
* Conduct basic equipment repairs or report maintenance issues promptly to minimise downtime
* Perform manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting of goods and materials in accordance with health and safety guidelines
* Support warehouse organisation by maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of work areas
* Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational targets
Skills
* Proven experience in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control
* Competence in operating forklift trucks safely; valid certification is preferred
* Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting
* Strong materials handling skills, including load & unload operations
* Good understanding of shipping & receiving procedures
* Basic mathematical skills for inventory counting and documentation
* Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual tasks regularly
* Prior warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential; willingness to learn is important
* Organised with excellent attention to detail and safety awareness
This role requires a proactive approach, a focus on safety, and the ability to work efficiently within a team. Candidates should be prepared to contribute positively to our fast-paced warehouse environment.
Overtime is will be paid at Time and a half over 40 hours. Plus we have an overtime bonus scheme of £30 a week. We pay on a four weekly basis.
