TARCG is delighted to be supporting a leading MRO in their search for Sheet Metal Workers to join their team on either a permanents or contract basis. This exciting project will involve modifying and upgrading the structures and components of various aircraft, requiring precision fabrication and assembly of sheet metal components to the highest aviation standards.
As part of a dedicated project team, you will play a key role in ensuring that modifications are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in sheet metal work and aircraft structures to contribute to a high-profile project in the aviation sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform aircraft maintenance and modification tasks in line with approved engineering data, ensuring full responsibility for the quality and airworthiness of completed work.
* Remove and disassemble significant structural aircraft components as part of modification and maintenance activities.
* Read, understand, and apply maintenance manuals, engineering drawings, and applicable regulatory standards.
* Assemble and fit complex aircraft structural sections with precision and accuracy.
* Work consistently to tight tolerances while maintaining exceptionally high workmanship standards.
* Apply sealants, install fasteners, and carry out bonding processes in accordance with approved procedures.
* Adhere strictly to tool control procedures to maintain safety and compliance within the work area.
* Communicate progress regularly and highlight any risks or issues impacting the work schedule, offering practical solutions where possible.
* Escalate any safety concerns immediately to the Lead Technician or certifying engineer, following internal safety reporting processes.
Skills and Qualifications:
* At least 2-3 years of live aircraft structures/ sheet metal experience
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong knowledge of airframes
