Location: Based in Croydon, CR0 1EB, working across multiple properties, including a female-only service.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:00. Weekend and bank holiday work may be required based on service needs.
Note: Due to the nature of the service, it is an occupational requirement that the post holder is female. This role is exempt from the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, Paragraph 1.

About the role
We seek a compassionate Positive Engagement Worker to support residents referred by South London and Maudsley Trust (SLaM). Our residents face mental health challenges and complex needs. The role involves supporting their journey towards independent living through person-centred, flexible support.
You will research and facilitate opportunities for residents, including employment, education, and community activities, collaborating with external partners and bringing new ideas to enhance resident access to resources. You will work closely with support teams to promote positive outcomes for residents through individual and group activities and daily support.
The role includes:
* Organising activities within the service and in the community to foster a sense of belonging, such as museum visits, community events, and outings.
* Planning in-service events like cooking sessions, game days, sports, and festivals.
* Updating support plans via our online portal.
* Providing housing management and welfare benefits support.
About you
We are looking for someone passionate about supporting individuals facing mental health and substance dependency challenges. You should be able to build rapport, be creative in community engagement, and flexible in your approach, recognizing individual support needs.
You will have:
* Knowledge of external opportunities in education, employment, and benefits.
* Experience working with individuals with complex needs, preferably in mental health.
* Empathy, compassion, and motivational skills.
* IT proficiency with CRM and Microsoft Office.
* An understanding of the social marginalization faced by individuals with complex needs.
